Eight questions we hear most weeks.

If your question is not on the list, send it to us. We will reply within one business day.

— Q · 01

Do I need to prepare my walls before you arrive?

No. Our residential wallpaper service includes the full preparation regime: removal of any old paper, substrate repair, skim coating where required, sanding, and primer. We do ask that you remove personal items and small furniture from the room so we can lay floor protection cleanly.

— Q · 02

Can you install wallpaper directly over a textured wall?

No reputable installer will. Texture telegraphs through paper and ruins the finish. We skim coat textured walls in two thin passes, sand to 220 grit, and prime before any drop is hung. This prep is part of our wallpaper installation services, and the result reads as a single uninterrupted surface.

— Q · 03

How much wallpaper should I order?

Always have us measure first. We calculate yardage based on the actual wall, the pattern repeat (drop match), and the cutting waste your specific paper requires. We send a written yardage statement before you place your order, whether the project is in Arlington, Alexandria, or another DMV service area.

— Q · 04

Do you remove old wallpaper as well?

Yes. Wallpaper removal is a separate service that includes safe stripping, full glue residue removal, substrate repair, and primer. You can hire us for removal alone, or for removal followed by a fresh installation.

— Q · 05

How long does a typical room take?

A single accent wall is usually a one-day project once the wall is prepared. A full room is typically two to three days including prep. Larger residential or historic home wallpaper projects are scheduled in week-long blocks so a single master can stay on the project from start to finish.

— Q · 06

Do you work on commercial projects?

Yes. Our commercial wallpaper installers handle Type II and Type III commercial vinyl, acoustic and dry-erase wallcoverings, and large-format wayfinding murals. We schedule commercial work around your operating hours, including overnight and weekend windows.

— Q · 07

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We carry general liability and workers' compensation cover. We are happy to provide certificates of insurance to general contractors, property managers, and building owners across the DMV service area, Rockville, and nearby cities on request before the project starts.

— Q · 08

Do you provide a written estimate?

Always. Every project is quoted in writing after an on-site survey. The estimate includes the prep regime, the materials we will use (paste, primer, lining), and the schedule. Request a quote from the contact page for projects in Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, or any listed service area.
